What are you thinking on the start line?: usually something along the lines of “I got this” “go fast” “i love this”
What do you ride?: BIKES! Mostly road bikes at the moment, but theres a mountain biker that surfaces sometime.
How did you start racing?: I went to watch a downhill race and decided it would be me racing next time. Road racing started at University games.
Explain the scariest situation you’ve had on a bike: Being hit by a limousine, that or having sudden brake fade during a downhill run.
Explain the best moment whilst riding: When the race goes to plan, when the team gets a result and you finish knowing you left it all out there.
Who are your heroes?: Bike Heroes: Claire Buchar, Anna Meares, Jared Graves, Missy Giove, Jill Kitner, Peter Sagan, Anne-Caro Chausson – all the usual suspects!
What’s the most flats you’ve had in one day?: Probably about 3 – 4 when I was working as a messenger.
What’s the most important thing you’ve forgotten to take to a race?: I didn’t bring any race nutrition to road nationals this year and just banked on there being something there I could buy.
What motivates you to keep riding?: Feeling faster and flowier.
What do you like doing when you’re not riding: Its rare that what I am doing is not riding but I would say getting a in a good dance. Either out in a crowd or by myself in the kitchen.
What would you say to kids starting out?: Do it because you love it.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?: Hectic pressure on this question! I eliminate oppression and hatred towards any humans, and would eliminate the animal agriculture industry.
